By downloading, installing, or using Reflection ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you ("the User") and Rajat, an individual developer based in India ("the Developer").
Reflection is a personal logging application that allows users to:
The App is local-first: it works fully offline, and all data is stored on your device. Signing in is optional and adds an encrypted-in-transit cloud backup — see the Privacy Policy for details on what that involves.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
All logs, entries, notes, photos, and other content you create ("User Content") belongs entirely to you. The Developer makes no claim of ownership over any User Content.
You are solely responsible for the User Content you create and store. You agree not to use the App to store content that violates applicable law, infringes a third party's rights, or contains malicious code.
The App is local-first — your data lives primarily on your device. If you have not signed in, the Developer is not responsible for data loss from device damage, loss, theft, accidental deletion, or OS issues, since no cloud copy exists to restore from. If you are signed in, an encrypted-in-transit backup exists, but the Developer still cannot guarantee against data loss and recommends periodically using the App's export feature.
You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
The App, including its design, code, branding, name, logo, and all associated creative assets, is the intellectual property of the Developer. All rights reserved. The name "Reflection," the tagline "See yourself clearly," the water-themed visual design, and all associated brand elements are proprietary to the Developer. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership or licence rights beyond the limited right to use the App as described.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Reflection is a personal logging tool, not a medical device, health monitoring system, or diagnostic tool. Nothing in the App constitutes medical, psychological, financial, or professional advice. Continue to consult qualified professionals for any such decisions.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The Developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, revenue, or business; or damages from your inability to use the App or unauthorised access to your device or account. In no event shall the Developer's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim (currently $0, as the App is free).
The Developer may update, modify, or discontinue any feature or the entire App at any time, and may change these Terms with reasonable notice. Material changes will be announced through in-app notices; continued use after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If a future version introduces a paid subscription or premium tier, existing free-period users will be given reasonable notice and transition options.
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device (and, if signed in, deleting your account from Profile settings). Deleting the App removes all locally stored data; deleting your account also removes your cloud backup and uploaded photos. The Developer may terminate or suspend access for any user who violates these Terms, subject to applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Nothing here limits rights EU users have under GDPR/consumer-protection law or US users have under applicable state/federal consumer-protection law. Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation, then be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions continue in full force.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding your use of the App.
